    Finding out how you too can cure acid reflux permanently and getting the much needed peaceful night's sleep are so necessary that suffering from acid reflux at night can be extremely stressful with symptoms that include burning in the chest, acidity, sometimes nausea or even sweating for those suffering from acid reflux, the chances are you end up getting less sleep and remain more awake in the night.And we all know that an average person needs at least 6-8 hours of good sleep so that the body can energize itself. Lack of proper sleep can tire the body out and lead to many health problems. But since you suffer from heartburn at night, a good night sleep can be quite difficult to manage.

    Implementing these easy ways you can get the much needed sleep and relief from the pain and symptoms of this condition.

  •     Have a light meal at night and have it early too so that by the time you hit bed, food gets almost digested. Never go to sleep as soon as you have had dinner. Leave about an hour or two gap in between which will be quite beneficial.
  •     Do not eat heavy meals at night and avoid taking spicy fatty foods or rich desserts especially at night time. For some people a glass of chilled or hot milk before bedtime gives relief. But for some people like me, taking milk tends to make the symptoms worse.
  •     Eat slowly and chew your food properly. Take lots of liquids especially water. Avoid alcohol and other aerated drinks which can trigger your symptoms.
  •     Changing your sleeping position at night and using a pillow specially made for acid reflux.
  •     Keep a note on what works for you and what does not and follow it strictly so that you can prevent heartburn symptoms.
  •     You need to effectively treat the root cause of acid reflux to get permanent relief because antacids provide you only temporary relief and its prolonged usage is not advisable.
